Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying,
“ This is the way, walk in it,”
Whenever you turn to the right hand
Or whenever you turn to the left. <Isaiah 30:21>
Well, I think somewhere over Manitoba it hit me, “I’m moving to Alberta”. Do you ever have moments where you feel like your watching your life as it plays out before you like a movie? This was one of those moments. And this moment in time was the culmination of much prayer, tears, laughs, trials and blessings.
I was originally prompted by God one Saturday morning last March. Jillian had taken Isaac grocery shopping, and I was deep in prayer in my living room, seeking God’s face. This was the loudest I’d ever heard the “still -small voice” of the Holy Spirit and He said, you need to call Prairie Bible College regarding mission aviation. “Now Lord”?…. Right now! I went downstairs and called the airport hanger, and ended up chatting to a missionary pilot for over an hour who had been based out of Kenya.
Unfortunately, I can’t begin to write all the ways God led us from that point till this one, mainly because they are precious stones of faith in my walk with God. However, I will say this: God is alive, He loves us, He has a plan for us, He loves to grant us the desires of our hearts, His ways are perfect, He is faithful, He is sovereign, and His purposes stand forever.
So here I am, in Three Hills, Alberta….anxiously awaiting the arrival of Jillian, Isaac, and Ella (she’s doing well by the way, please continue to pray for her as she heals and her heart adjusts) in three weeks. For those who don’t know, I’m enrolled in the Prairie School of Mission Aviation, a 2 year program which gives you your commercial pilots license, and essentially trains you to become a missionary pilot. We have no idea where this is going to lead, but….oh what an adventure. And that truly is the Christian walk…it’s a walk of faith, a walk of obedience…it’s full of trials and blessings. And in the end, God receives the glory.
Have a blessed week, Stephen
